WHO WE ARE
Bremerton United Methodist Church is an inclusive, missional church deeply committed to issues of social justice and compassion for the least of these. We believe that by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are to be agents of change, messengers of hope, and most importantly bearers of God's love into our neighborhood and world.
As a Reconciling congregation, we celebrate the diversity of our community and the world. We affirm the sacred dignity of all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, age, economic status, or physical and mental capabilities. We openly proclaim this welcome to all, including those who have known the pain of exclusions or discrimination, and invite everyone to join us in our faith journey toward greater love, respect and understanding.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
"Teacher, which command in God's Law is the most important?" Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.' This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them."
~ Matthew 22: 36-40
Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life… ~ Matthew 28:19
